The Alberta Utilities Commission is currently considering a project from Acestes Ventures Ltd. to construct and operate a new 22-megawatt solar power plant in the Coaldale area.
The AUC has cancelled the oral hearing for Proceeding 23821, scheduled to commence in Lethbridge on April 2, 2019, because the two parties granted standing have withdrawn their objections to the project.
In response to its notice of application issued on September 26, 2018 for the proceeding, the Commission received statements of intent to participate from three parties. In a ruling issued on November 29, 2018, the Commission granted standing to two of these parties. The Commission determined that the County of Lethbridge, did not have standing but could participate in the hearing by making a statement, either verbally or in writing, at the hearing.
The Commission will continue to review the applications and any statements filed by the County of Lethbridge and Acestes Ventures Ltd., without holding a hearing. The Commission may also have additional questions for Acestes Ventures Ltd. Once the Commission has completed its review of the proceeding record, a decision will be issued in due course.
The eFiling System should be accessed to view the applications and the other documents the AUC will be considering in this proceeding. The system is also used to file submissions and evidence to participate in the proceeding.
