The Alberta Utilities Commission is currently considering applications from Pattern Development Lanfine Wind ULC for the
Lanfine Wind Power Project to construct 79 turbines with a total generating capability of 284.4 megawatts, two collector substations, designated as Buffalo Bird 601S Substation and Nighthawk Substation, a collector system, access roads, permanent meteorological towers and an operations and maintenance facility. Each turbine will be approximately 105 metres high with a rotor diameter of 136 metres.
The AUC will be holding a
hearing to review the applications and submissions received to consider the applications in Proceeding 22736.
The AUC previously issued a
notice of application on August 10, 2017, for the buildable area of the Lanfine Wind Power Project. Pattern Development Lanfine Wind ULC subsequently acquired the project from Bowark Energy Ltd. and filed additional applications in which it applied to construct, operate and interconnect the project.
The AUC issued a
notice of application
which includes the project updates for the Lanfine Wind Power Plant project on March 7, 2019.
The project would be located southwest of Oyen in Special Area No. 3 and Municipal District of Acadia No. 34, within townships 25 to 27 and ranges 3 to 5, west of the Fourth Meridian.
