The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is responsible for planning electric facility development in Alberta. The AESO has applied to the AUC for approval of a needs identification document (NID). The NID application addresses the need to develop the electric transmission system to facilitate interconnection of wind farms in the Pincher Creek area.
AltaLink Management Ltd. (AltaLink) is the transmission facility owner in this region and has applied to the AUC for approval to construct facilities to meet the needs identified in the AESO’s NID application noted above and the Southern Alberta Transmission Reinforcement (SATR) NID, approved in Commission Decision 2009-126. |
