The project proposes to:
- Construct and operate a new substation, southeast of Hardisty, designated as Nilrem 574S, proposed to be located in the northeast quarter of Section 9, Township 42, Range 9, west of the Fourth Meridian. The substation would consist of two 240/320/400-mega volt amperes (MVA) 240/138-kilovolt (kV) transformers, three 240-kV circuit breakers, three 138-kV circuit breakers, and associated substation equipment within a chain link fence enclosure.
- Construct and operate approximately 25 kilometres (km) of new 240-kV double-circuit transmission line, designated as 953L/1047L, from a connection point on existing 240-kV transmission line 953L to the proposed Nilrem 574S, as shown in the attached map.
- Alter the portion of the existing transmission line 953L, from the proposed 953L/1047L connection point to existing substation Hansman Lake 650S, by renaming that portion of transmission line as 1047L.
- Alter existing Tucuman 478S substation by adding two new 138-kV circuit breakers.
- Construct and operate approximately 6.5 km of new 138-kV double-circuit transmission line, designated as 679L/680L, from existing Tucuman 478S substation to the proposed Nilrem 574S substation, as shown in the attached map.
