Description of the applications:
The AESO filed Application No. 1606704 with the AUC on October 25, 2010, requesting approval of the needs identification document for the following system development and enhancements in the Leduc area: • Construct a new 138/25-kV substation, designated Leduc 325S with associated breakers, protection and controls. • Connection of the new Leduc 325S to the transmission grid via a new 138-kV double-circuit transmission line.
AltaLink filed Application No. 1606386 with the AUC on July 23, 2010, seeking approval to: • Construct and operate a new 138/25-kV substation, designated as Leduc 325S, consisting of one 138/25-kV 25/33/42 megavolt-ampere load tap-changing transformer, five 25-kV circuit breakers, and two 138-kV circuit breakers, at the preferred location in LSD 12, Section 21, Township 49, Range 25, west of the Fourth Meridian, or at the alternate location in LSD 16, Section 7, Township 49, Range 25, west of the Fourth Meridian. • Construct and operate approximately 13 to 16 kilometres (depending on the route option) of new 138-kV double-circuit transmission line to be designated as 837L/632L or 632L/838L from an existing 138-kV transmission line from the preferred tap-off point off 838L in LSD 12, Section 29, • Township 49, Range 26, west of the Fourth Meridian, or from the alternate tap-off point off 837L in LSD 12, Section 13, Township 49, Range 27, west of the Fourth Meridian to the new Leduc 325S substation. • Interconnect the new above-mentioned facilities to the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. |
