A Canadian Association of Members of Public Utility Tribunals (CAMPUT) benchmarking committee was formed in September 2010 to undertake a pilot project to collect benchmarking data from regulated electric distribution and transmission utilities in Canada. The Alberta Utilities Commission (the AUC or the Commission) is participating in the pilot project to assist in the collection and examination of data.
The data collection process for this pilot project is for a three-year period from 2008 to 2010, and the following metrics were decided upon for the purpose of the benchmarking pilot project:
- Customer Service Metrics - Call Centre Service Level
- System Reliability Metrics for the Distribution Utilities (SAIFI, SAIDI, CAIDI)
- System Reliability Metrics for Transmission Utilities (T-SAIFI, T-SAIDI, and SARI)
