The Alberta Utilities Commission may impose an administrative penalty if it determines, after a hearing or other proceeding that a person has contravened or failed to comply with any provision of the Alberta Utilities Commission Act; any other legislation under the jurisdiction of the AUC; any decision or order of the AUC or any commission or ISO rule or reliability standards. In the above circumstances, the Commission may also impose any terms or conditions on a person that it considers appropriate.
 
 An administrative penalty may be either or both of the following:
    (a) an amount not exceeding $1,000,000 for each day part of a day on which the contravention  occurs or continues;
    (b) a one-time amount to address economic benefit where the AUC is of the opinion that a person denied an economic benefit directly or indirectly as a result of the contravention.

The Commission also has the authority to make rules prescribing the form and content of specified penalties for the contravention of ISO rules or reliability standards.

Description of filing A notice filed by the Market Surveillance Administrator pursuant to Section 52 of the Alberta Utilities Commission Act requesting a hearing or proceeding for a contravention of an ISO rule or reliability standard for which a penalty has been specified.

Go to the eFiling System and select Find > Applications from top navigation menu then enter the following:                    
- Division: Markets
- Application Category: Markets - Rules
- Application status: Registered or Decided in part if looking for current applications or Closed or Decided for historic applications.

Go to the Decisions section or go to the Advanced Search section and search for Decisions and enter Markets in the Division field.
