The Alberta Utilities Commission is currently considering a project from ENMAX Power Corporation to construct a new underground 138-kilovolt transmission in downtown Calgary. The AUC will be holding a hearing on August 15, 2018 to review the applications and submissions received, as indicated by the notice of hearing issued on May 31, 2018.
The Alberta Utilities Commission is currently reviewing the applications and submissions received which can be accessed through the eFiling System and going to Proceeding 23157. A notice of application was issued on February 21, 2018, and again on April 4, 2018, asking those that wish to participate in the proceeding to provide their submissions.
The applications propose the construction of a new underground 138-kilovolt transmission line between the existing ENMAX No. 2 Substation located at 3120 Ninth Street S.E. and the existing ENMAX No. 8 Substation located at 903 Fourth Avenue S.W. The applications also propose to install a new 138-kilovolt circuit breaker in the existing control building at the ENMAX No. 8 Substation within the existing fenced area.
