Rates application - Notice of application and alert templates
1. As a result of the amendment to Section 22 of Rule 001: Rules of Practice, as outlined in Bulletin 2009-27, applicants filing electric or gas rate related applications (except for regular monthly rates applications such as the regulated retail gas and electric energy charges) will be required to prepare and file a draft notice of application and a draft alert of notice of application (alert) using templates provided by the Commission. This requirement is applicable to applications filed pursuant to Section 37 (transmission tariff), Section 102 (distribution tariff), Section 103 (regulated rate tariff) or Section 119 of the Electric Utilities Act (EUA), Section 26 and Section 36 (utility rate) of the Gas Utilities Act (GUA), Section 3 (default rate tariff) of the Default Gas Supply Regulation, or Section 101 of the Public Utilities Act. In Decision 2012-304, the Commission approved an acknowledgement filing process for the quarterly transmission rider applications of ATCO Electric Ltd., Enmax Power Corporation, Epcor Distribution and Transmission Inc., and FortisAlberta Inc. As a result, these electric distribution companies are not required to file a draft notice of application or alert with their quarterly applications.
2. Applicants who are required to prepare the draft notice of application and draft alert shall file these documents with the Commission at the time that the application is filed. The draft notice of application is filed as a draft notice of application attachment and the draft alert is filed as a draft alert attachment through the Electronic Application Submission (EAS) service offered via DDS.
3. Templates of the two draft documents are as follows:

4. The draft templates of the notice of application and the alert should be downloaded from the AUC website each time that a new application is filed to ensure that the latest version is being used.
5. All of the comments and instructions in the two templates should be deleted prior to submitting the documents.
6. Please use Times New Roman 12 font, consistent with the text used in the templates.
7. Please file the draft notice of application and the draft alert with a Word format extension.
Franchise application - Appendix and notice of application templates
1. The applicant will file the franchise application and rate rider application under a single application number, and will include Appendix 1.

2. As a result of the amendment to Section 22 of
Rule 001: Rules of Practice, as outlined in
Bulletin 2011-20, applicants filing franchise applications under Section 45 of the
Municipal Government Act, will be required to prepare and file a draft notice of application using the following templates provided by the Commission.

3. Applicants who are required to prepare the draft notice of application shall file these documents with the Commission at the time that the application is filed. The draft notice of application is filed as a "Draft notice of application" and the draft notice of application newspaper advertisement is filed as "Draft notice of application newspaper advertisement" attachments through the Electronic Application Submission (EAS) service offered via DDS.
4. The draft templates of the notice of application and notice of application newspaper advertisement should be downloaded from the AUC website each time that a new application is filed to ensure that the latest versions are being used.
5. All of the comments and instructions in the templates should be deleted prior to submitting the document.
6. Please use Times New Roman 12 font, consistent with the text used in the templates.
