Overview
The Alberta Utilities Commission is reviewing applications from Signalta Resources Limited for the High River Peaking Power Plant Project. The AUC issued a notice of application on December 17, 2020 and a and a notice of hearing on March 10, 2021.
Signalta
Resources Limited has applied to construct and operate a 19.9-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant designated as the High River Peaking Power Facility
in the southwest quarter of Section 13, Township 19, Range 29, west of the
Fourth Meridian. The project would be located on previously disturbed land and
consist of 16 individual natural gas-fired generators. Signalta also applied to connect the proposed
power plant to the Alberta Interconnected Electric System via the FortisAlberta
Inc. electric distribution system.

The AUC's
facility decision index is also available to assist stakeholders in researching issues that are raised frequently during proceedings that consider applications for power plants (including wind, hydro and solar), transmission lines, gas utility pipelines and other facilities.
