Overview
The Alberta Utilities Commission is reviewing applications for the Provost to Edgerton Transmission Development project in Proceeding 26171.
The AUC issued a notice of hearing for the Provost to Edgerton development application on December 21, 2020. The AUC identified a labelling error on the map that was enclosed with some of the notices of hearing. In those cases the map provided by the AUC incorrectly identified the “AltaLink alternate transmission line route – Stage 1” as Stage 2 and “AltaLink alternate transmission line route – Stage 2” as Stage 1. The visual depiction and description of the proposed route alignments in the map were correct but were mislabelled. A revised notice was issued January 7, 2021 and a new version of the map showing the correction is below.
AltaLink Mangement Ltd. has applied to construct and operate the Provost to Edgerton development in two stages. Stage 1 consists of the addition of one 240-kilovolt (kV) transmission line between the Hansman Lake 650S Substation and Transmission Line 749AL, and modifications to the Hansman Lake 650S Substation.
Stage 2 consists of the addition of one 240-kV transmission line between Transmission Line 749AL and the Edgerton 899S Substation, and modifications to the Edgerton 899S Substation.
The map below identifies the routes applied for by AltaLink Management Ltd. The Commission may approve the preferred route or alternate route, and any of the route variants.
Detailed maps can be found in the eFiling system, or by visiting the
AltaLink Management Ltd. website.
