The Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) is reviewing applications from Enerfin Energy Company of Canada Inc. to construct and operate the Winnifred Wind Power Plant Connection Project.
The AUC issued a notice of application for the project on September 1, 2021, and a notice of amended application on June 14, 2022.

On May 27, 2022, Enerfin amended its application to propose a new route along Highway 523, Township Road 120 and Highway 3. Enerfin had previously proposed a transmission line route along Township Road 114 and Highway 3 but has eliminated this route from consideration as part of its amendment.

The AUC had previously scheduled a hearing to commence on February 22, 2022, to consider applications for the Winnifred Wind Power Connection Project. On February 15, 2022, the AUC granted a request from Enerfin Energy Company of Canada Inc. to adjourn the proceeding. Accordingly, the AUC will reschedule the hearing to a future date, which will be communicated in due course.
