​​​Compensation

In compliance with the Public Sector Compensation Transparency Act the AUC discloses the total compensation paid or amounts entitled to each of its members, and any staff whose total compensation exceeded the threshold amount, for each respective calendar year. The attached file separates total compensation into three categories:

  • Compensation – All taxable income and taxable benefits.​
  • Other – All non-taxable benefits, including the employer’s share of pension and statutory benefit contributions.
  • Severance – All amounts related to end of service, including retiring allowances and payments in-lieu of notice. ​

​​​Whistleblower

In compliance with the Public Interest Disclosure (Whistleblower Protection) Act (Whistleblower Act) every chief officer must prepare a report annually on all disclosures that have been made to the designated officer of the department, public entity or office of the legislature for which the chief officer is responsible. For the AUC, the chief officer is Bob Heggie, chief executive.

The annual report must include the following:

  • The number of disclosures received, the number of disclosures a​cted on and the number of disclosures not acted on.
  • The number of investigations commenced as a result of disclosures.
  • In the case of an investigation that results in a finding of wrongdoing, a description of the wrongdoing and any recommendations made or corrective measures taken in relation to the wrongdoing or the reasons why no corrective measure was taken.​

​There have been no disclosures, investigations and findings of wrongdoing as set out in section 32(1) of the Whistleblower Act for the period April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024. ​​​

​The AUC is committed to openness and transparency in its processes. Expense statement reports provide travel, meal and hospitality expenses incurred by its Commission members and executive directors on a bi-monthly basis.
