Proceeding 29272  Register

Application 29272-A001

Watch an AUC hearing

Overview

The Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC), the independent utilities regulator, will be reviewing the application and submissions received to consider the power plant development application in Proceeding 29272. On March 31, 2025, the AUC approved PACE Canada Development LP’s request to place the proceeding into abeyance.

PACE Canada Development LP has applied to construct and operate a 25.9-megawatt solar power plant and to connect the power plant to the FortisAlberta Inc. distribution system. The power plant would be sited on 175 acres of grazed land. The power plant would be located within the municipal boundary of the city of Brooks, in the west half of Section 5, Township 19, Range 14, west of the Fourth Meridian. The application has been filed under the Hydro and Electric Energy Act.

Further information about the proceeding is available through the AUC’s eFiling System under Proceeding 29272.
