Overview

EPCOR Distribution & Transmission Inc. (EDTI) has applied to construct and operate:

  • A new substation designated as the Fort Road Substation.
  • A new 240-kilovolt (kV) double-circuit transmission line, designated as transmission lines 993L and 915L between the proposed Fort Road Substation and existing Transmission Line 915L.
  • A new double-circuit 72-kV transmission line, designated as 72FN27 and 72FN28, between the proposed Fort Road Substation and the existing Namao Substation.

EDTI has proposed alternate and preferred routes for both the 240-kV and 72-kV transmission lines. The Commission may approve any of the proposed routes.

EDTI has also proposed to alter the existing Namao Substation, install new and modify existing fibre optic cables, and to decommission the existing Kennedale Substation and four 72-kV underground transmission lines. AltaLink Management Ltd. has applied to alter existing Transmission Line 915L. The applications have been filed under the Hydro and Electric Energy Act.
