The AUC will be considering the power plant, energy storage facility and substation development applications in Proceeding 29895
Enerfin Energy Company of Canada Inc. has applied for approval to construct and operate the Big Rock Solar Project, which consists of a 90-megawatt solar power plant, a 40-megawatt battery energy storage system and a project substation designated as the Big Rock 1086S Substation. The power plant would consist of approximately 201,000 solar modules on fixed bifacial panels.
The project would be located on approximately 440 acres of privately owned agricultural land, in the locations described in Table 1, approximately 11 kilometres southeast of Diamond Valley, Alberta. These applications have been filed under the Hydro and Electric Energy Act.
