The AUC is reviewing applications from RES Forty Mile Wind GP Corp. for approval to amend the approved Forty Mile Wind Power Project and the associated Forty Mile 516S Substation. The project would be located within portions of townships 9-11, ranges 9 and 10, west of the Fourth Meridian, approximately five kilometres east of Bow Island, Alberta.

The original project was approved by the AUC in Decision 22966-D01-2018.

The amended Forty Mile Wind Power Project would consist of 70 wind turbines not 115 turbines, with a maximum capacity of 399 megawatts. The hub height of the wind turbines would be 108 metres not 101.5 metres, with a tip height of 185.5 metres not 167.5 metres. The amended Forty Mile Wind Power Project would be completed in two phases, with Phase I consisting of 49 turbines and Phase II consisting of 21 turbines. Amendments were also proposed for the major equipment within the Forty Mile 516S Substation.
