The Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC), the independent utilities regulator, will be considering the power plant application in Proceeding 28971.
Legal Solar STL Inc. has applied to construct and operate a 125-megawatt solar power plant approximately eight kilometres west of the town of Legal, in Sturgeon County, Alberta. The project would be located on approximately 200 hectares of privately owned agricultural land within Section 36, Township 57, Range 26, west of the Fourth Meridian and Section 25, Township 57, Range 26, west of the Fourth Meridian. The application has been filed under the Hydro and Electric Energy Act.
