The AUC will be considering the power plant, substation and interconnection applications in Proceeding 30013. The AUC issued notice of applications on June 10, 2025.
UK LS 1 Ltd. and UK LS 3 Ltd., wholly owned subsidiaries of Universal Kraft Canada Renewables Ltd., have applied to construct and operate the Little Smoky 1 and Little Smoky 3 solar projects, respectively. The Little Smoky 1 Solar Project would consist of a 448-megawatt (MW) solar power plant and an associated substation, located approximately 10 kilometres north of the hamlet of Little Smoky. The Little Smoky 3 Solar Project would consist of a 25.2-MW solar power plant, located approximately 17 kilometres north of the hamlet of Little Smoky and an interconnection to the ATCO Electric Ltd. distribution system.

The eFiling System
The eFiling System should be accessed to view the applications and the other documents the AUC will be considering in this proceeding. The system is also used to file submissions and evidence to participate in the proceeding.
To create an account, select “New account” and follow the steps to create a user ID and password. If you have any questions about how to use the eFiling System please contact us at info@auc.ab.ca or 310-4AUC.
Documents being considered in this proceeding can be found in the eFiling System (which requires log in). Once you have logged in, enter 30013 in the “go to” section at the top left corner of your screen.
