Proceeding 28876  Register

Decision 28876-D01-2025

Watch an AUC hearing

Overview

The Alberta Utilities Commission held a hearing to review applications for electric transmission development submitted by Nova Solar. The Commission also received related applications from AltaLink Management Ltd. and combined AltaLink’s applications with Nova Solar’s application.

Nova Solar applied to construct and temporarily operate a new eight-kilometre-long, 240-kilovolt transmission line, to be designated as Transmission Line 927AL, near the town of Carseland. The new transmission line would connect the approved Nova Solar Power Plant to the Alberta Interconnected Electric System through Nova Solar’s approved Nova 1005S Substation.

AltaLink Management Ltd. applied for approval to connect existing Transmission Line 927L to proposed Transmission Line 927AL and to alter Transmission Line 927AL to accommodate this proposed connection. AltaLink also applied to install one new telecommunications tower (up to 29 metres tall) at the Nova 1005S Substation.

The map included with this notice identifies the applied-for routes by Nova Solar.
