We are delighted to announce that AUC Chair Carolyn Dahl Rees has been appointed as King’s Counsel (KC), an honour that recognizes distinguished lawyers in Alberta for significant contributions to both the legal profession and the well-being of the broader community. Recipients exemplify integrity, commitment, leadership, mentorship and service.

“After 40 years of practicing law in Alberta, I am deeply grateful to be appointed as KC,” says Carolyn. “I am truly humbled by the unwavering support of the outstanding people who recommended me for this honour and helped me in the process.”

Eligibility for the KC title requires at least 10 years at the bar, recognized expertise and distinguished service with challenging work that contributes to the development of the law and practice in Alberta. This recognition highlights Carolyn’s outstanding achievements in the law and her unwavering commitment to excellence.
