ENMAX Power Corporation has applied to replace the 138-kilovolt (kV) Transmission Line 3.82L by extending the existing 138-kV Transmission Line 2.83L approximately 2.5 kilometres from a point near the intersection of 16th Avenue N.E. and Deerfoot Trail N.E. to ENMAX No. 3 Substation. ENMAX has proposed a preferred route and an alternate route for the middle segment of the proposed Transmission Line 2.83L. The preferred route has a primarily overhead configuration while the alternate route has a primarily underground configuration. The Commission may approve either of the proposed routes.
In addition to the construction of Transmission Line 2.83L, ENMAX has also applied to de‑energize Transmission Line 3.82L, to alter ENMAX No. 3 Substation, and to reconfigure transmission lines around ENMAX No. 2 and No. 13 substations. The application has been filed under the Hydro and Electric Energy Act.
Below are maps of the proposed routes.
