The Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC), the independent utilities regulator, will be holding a hearing to review the applications and submissions received concerning the power plant and substation applications in Proceeding 27906. The AUC issued a notice of hearing on June 23, 2023.
Kiwetinohk Energy Corp. has applied to construct and operate a 350 megawatt solar power plant, designated as the Granum Solar Energy Project, and the associated Champion 1110S Substation (collectively, the project). The project would be located on approximately 1,450 acres of privately owned, cultivated land, approximately 11.5 kilometres southeast of the town of Claresholm, as shown in the attached map. The applications have been filed under the Hydro and Electric Energy Act.

The AUC will be holding a hearing to review the application and submissions received to consider the solar power plant development applications in Proceeding 27906. The hearing date is being rescheduled and will be announced in due course.
