Overview

The AUC will be considering the power plant, energy storage system and substation development applications in Proceeding 30291.

Togo Lake Solar Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Enerfin Energy Company of Canada Inc., has applied to construct and operate the Togo Lake Solar & BESS Project. The proposed project consists of a 400-megawatt (MW) solar power plant with approximately 698,500 solar photovoltaic modules installed on a single-axis tracking system, a 200-MW/400-megawatt-hour battery energy storage system (BESS), and a project substation. The project would also include inverters, an electrical collection system and internal access roads. The project would be located on approximately 797 hectares of private cultivated land in Special Area No. 3, approximately 7.2 kilometres southwest of the hamlet of Chinook, as shown in the map below. The applications have been filed under the Hydro and Electric Energy Act.

The AUC issued a notice of application in September 2025.
