Watch an AUC hearing

Overview

The AUC is reviewing applications from Solar Krafte Utilities Inc. to construct and operate a 60-megawatt solar power plant, designated as the Vauxhall Solar Farm, and the associated Solstice 549S Substation.

The AUC issued a notice of hearing cancellation on August 26, 2022, to cancel the virtual oral hearing for Proceeding 27077, which was scheduled to commence on October 17, 2022, via web conference. The hearing was to consider the applications filed by Solar Krafte Utilities Inc. requesting approval to construct and operate a 60-megawatt solar power plant, designated as the Vauxhall Solar Farm, and the associated Solstice 549S Substation.

The AUC cancelled the hearing in response to the withdrawal of the Brown Group from the proceeding, and in response to a subsequent motion from Solar Krafte to cancel the hearing.

The AUC has established a new process schedule to allow limited final submissions from the Municipal District of Taber. The Commission will review these submissions, and a decision will be issued in due course.

The project would be located on approximately 260 hectares of private land in the Municipal District of Taber, and would be located approximately five kilometres northwest of the town of Vauxhall. Specifically, the project area would cover the following sections and as illustrated in the map below:
